About Readwell

Why we built it

Real texts are the best language teacher — but one unknown sentence can stop you cold. Traditional dictionaries explain words in isolation, and machine translation gives you the meaning without the understanding.

Readwell takes a different path. Paste any text and Tree Reader splits it into chunks. Tap a chunk you don't understand and it breaks into smaller pieces — down to single words, with meanings, readings, and examples written for learners. You see how the sentence works, not just what it says.

The Langly family

Readwell is part of the Langly family of language learning tools. Each app stands alone, and they work great together:
